Senior AWS/Terraform Cloud  Engineer

We are looking for a senior  AWS/Terraform cloud engineer, with good experience on Kubernetes  and Kafka. The cloud engineer will have experience on  Kafka administration, preferably on  Cloudera Data Platform Hadoop environment. He/she is responsible for the design, development, management, and integration of systems based on AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Hadoop technologies.

This role involves establishing scalable and highly available architectures to meet the company’s data processing and storage needs.

Tasks:

– Maintain and develop solutions based on AWS services for data storage, processing, and analysis.

– Utilize appropriate AWS services such as Amazon EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc., to meet project requirements.

– Create and maintain Terraform configurations for managing infrastructure as code (IaC) on AWS.

– Automate the provisioning and deployment of AWS resources.

– Participate in the maintenance and setup of Kubernetes (Openshift) environments for hosting applications and services.

– Ensure smooth integration of existing applications into the OpenShift environment.

– Manage and administer Kafka clusters to ensure the availability, performance, and security of the messaging system.

– Monitor Kafka cluster performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices.

– Implement robust security measures to protect data and systems.

Skills:

– Proven professional experience in development and integration with AWS, Terraform, OpenShift, Kafka, and Hadoop technologies.

– Advanced knowledge of Kafka administration, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting.

– Practical experience in implementing infrastructure as code using Terraform.

– Strong understanding of security best practices for cloud systems, Kafka clusters, and Hadoop platforms.

– Ability to work in an agile environment and adapt to technological changes.

– Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to effectively resolve issues related to the technologies used.

– Good communication skills to work as a team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
